Falls Reservoir the last of four reservoirs along a 38-mile stretch of the Yadkin River.
Falls Reservoir is a small lake, not more than 2 miles in length, that was created between Narrows Dam, holding back Badin Lake, and Falls Dam which marks the beginning of Lake Tillery. On a map it looks like it could be part of the Yadkin River, in part due to it's narrow make up.
Locals and tourists alike consider Falls Reservoir to be a hidden gem. While the lakes of the Yadkin River are generally surrounded by housing developments and golf courses, Falls is not. It offers breathtaking views of the Uwharrie National Forest and calm waters, perfect for kayaking and canoeing in a serene setting.
From Albemarle, NC take HWY 740 towards Badin. At the flashing caution light take a right on Falls Road. Follow Falls Rd through town and the boat landing is 2 miles down on the left.
